This is a butter cookie recipe my mom, Tillie, used for Spritz cookies.
Mix together thoroughly:
1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
Stir in:3 tsp. Vanilla
Sift together and stir in:
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. Baking soda
Place dough in a cookie press and squeeze into desired shapes onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 3500. Do not burn.
Here is a small plate of Spritz Cookies. They were colored pink and were decorated with colored sprinkles before baking. Every Christmas, I use the christmas tree shaped disk to make green colored Christmas Trees sprinkled with red and green sprinkles.

Here are two versions of a cookie press. The one on the left is a Wilton. It is very easy to use and works great. Just be sure to not let one of the little plastic disks escape into your garbage disposal...My heart cookie disk was destroyed!
The one on the right is an older verson by Mirro. It is ok to use, but not my favorite.

I forgot all about these cookies and the press.I would be afraid to make them now since I would eat too many.
